Born and raised in Athens, Doug McKillip graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1994. After working as an associate in the trial practice division of Winburn, Lewis and Barrow, Doug has run his own trial practice since 1996.
Doug handles the Firm’s Personal Injury, Wrongful Death and trial practice litigation. These cases include automobile/bicycle collisions, workplace injury, motorcycle crashes, tractor-trailer wrecks, any matter involving the death of a person, nursing home negligence, and environmental contamination. Doug has successfully litigated hundreds of cases during his 15 years as an attorney. Doug also handles matrimonial law, including high net-worth divorces and pre- and post-nuptial agreements, divorce, child custody/support modifications of previous divorce agreements, and legitimations.

In 2006, Doug was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives. He fights for the rights of hard-working Georgians, to keep the environment clean for our children, and to make government work efficiently and effectively for the people of Georgia.
Doug is married to the former Mary Byers, also an attorney and honor graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, and together they have three sons, Jackson, William and John Maxwell.
